About this product
Children’s, or Childs, Chairs as the name suggests were made throughout the 18th and 19th centuries normally as scale models of their full-size counterparts for the children of the family to use. They come in all sorts of scales, shapes and sizes dependent of course on the age of the child they were initially made for and the style of the existing furniture within a home. This is a lovely example of a Hepplewhite-type design and the faux leather seat is of the drop in variety meaning it can easily be recovered in a different upholstery fabric should it be desired. Very much fit for original purpose still and in good condition this would be a lovely and charming addition to any family home.
