An antique 19th century French very rare and exceptional quality solid silver & niello serving tray, of oblong form, the border beautifully decorated with laurel leaves and applied with realistically modelled branch handles, the centre engraved and nielloed with a woodland scene depicting foxes hunting pheasants, the centre bearing large and elaborate initials (PLC). Hallmarked French hallmarks, Minerva (950 standard), Makers Mark (indistinguishable).
