Leather Hat Box by the Army and Navy Co-operative Society Ltd.

The interior has a shield shaped label stamped in gilt ‘Army & Navy Co-operative Society Ltd. Made At The Society’s Works’. The A & N CSL made a huge variety of leather luggage and several different types and sizes of hat cases.

The quality of this hat box is good, with a number of straps to the interior, the lid has two short straps and a four lever brass lock with the original key. The owner’s initials N.Mac.M. is stamped in black letters to the top. A very good example of antique luggage.
