Product Code: B780Beautiful French art deco bronze and ivory (chryselphantine) female water carrier with ivory head and hands carrying two onyx urns which contain the lights.
Made by Russian Artist Samuel Lipchytz
Good vintage condition with minor patches of wear to the dinanderie and a small but sound hairline to the ivory face.
Measures 22.75 inches (58cm) high.
The item can be seen and confirmed as a Lipchytz on page 230 of the Art Deco Sculpture book by Alastair Duncan (see last picture).

Fine dinanderie detailing to her top, geometric pleating to her bronze skirt and silvered bronze legs.
Mounted on a flared stepped green Brazilian onyx and Belgium black marble base.
Fitted with an in-line on/off switch.
An unsigned piece probably by either Lavroff or Le Faguays.
The statue retains an original sticker to the rear which is unreadable.
