An exquisite early Art Deco 1920’s French Onyx and Champleve Enamel Ink Well and Desk Set.

The green and brown onyx base sits on bronze bun feet with a bronze plate under base.

The Champleve enamel decoration is of the finest quality and in mint condition. Red and green enamelling in a foliage design of white and orange lilies, green leaves with red and green ribboning. The bronze outlining is finely engraved.

Standing on the onyx base are two Champleve Enamel, on bronze, ink wells decorated on all four sides and with original hand blown glass inserts.

A desk blotter and paper knife are also decorated with Champleve enamel. The blotter still holds the original pad of blotting paper.

Dimensions: Onyx base 30cm x 18cm.

This superb desk set and ink well would grace any desk. It is of museum quality and a rare example of fine Champleve enamel work.
