A Gripoix Chanel necklace, poured glass, pate de verre, hand made cluster beads in the most wonderful turquoise colour.
This construction provides a fullness and weight to this necklace of the quality found in high end earlier pieces for Chanel.

The twisted wire ring links and the double twist wiring to the bead clusters are both design and construction features used by Chanel.
Early Chanel necklace, similar to this design, with multi coloured Gripoix beads and pearls (gorgeous in their own right) are often seen, however, what makes this so special and rarer is the fullness and stunning vibrant turquoise Gripoix beads.
As with most early Chanel pieces, this necklace is not signed.

The necklace is constructed on double links of twisted gold metal wire rings.
Clusters of turquoise Gripoix glass beads on wire head pins are secured by a double twist gold metal wire to the links, with individual larger turquoise Gripoix glass beads hung from the rings between each cluster.
