About this product
Dressing table mirrors, often referred to as “toilet mirrors” were made from the beginning of the 18th century onwards.
Designed to sit atop a dressing table, or chest of drawers, in the bedroom or dressing room they are found in a huge variety of sizes, woods, shapes, sizes and qualities.
This example is a relatively standard design for the late 18th century, and is of good quality construction with some attractive strung decoration.
Although originally designed to sit on top of a dressing table it is of course most versatile and would suit a whole variety of locations around the home. The mirror plate itself is replaced, but not brand new, meaning there are a few old marks, but it is very much functional for its original purpose as a dressing table mirror.
