About this product
Oak and Silver Plate Banded Beer Mug England circa 1880
£195.00
A very smart looking late Victorian oak and silver plated beer mug with a tapering body, banded in silver plated rings and an empty shield shape cartouche. Personalised mugs that the owner would use in the local tavern was commonplace in Victorian England but these items we largely donated as prizes and proudly displayed at home. The silver plated bands contrast wonderfully with the natural oak wood and they ooze sophistication, elegance echoing a time reminiscent of country clubs and Victorian taverns.
