Bernard Myers ( 1925-2007 )
Painter, printmaker and teacher, born and lived in London. He studied at St Martin’s School of Art, 1947–9, Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, 1949–51, and Royal College of Art, 1951–4. Taught at Royal College of Art, and other London art schools and travelled extensively abroad, including India and the Middle East, although from taking a studio on the Thames at Hammersmith in 1987 he said that his work “was dominated by the river”, as shown in his solo exhibition at New Grafton Gallery, 1991. Also showed at RA, RWA and in other mixed exhibitions and had many solo shows including a series at New Art Centre, 1969–83. Arts Council, Carlisle City Art Gallery and other public and corporate collections hold examples.
