About this product
Opulent Large Art Nouveau Antique Teapot by Grimwade Bros Pottery England
£59.00
An outstanding and ornately decorated, antique, art nouveau teapot in green and gold, dating from 1890-1900, made by Grimwade Bros Pottery, Stoke on Trent, England. There are majolica shells in green and lined with gold that clasp the base all the way around as well as the spout. This design is then replicated around the top of the pot. Bunches of daisies adorn the body and the fine lid. The handle is curled to protrude upwards from the body.
In truly remarkable condition for its age. I can find no chips nor any cracks on the exterior at all, just a little fading in parts to the gold. Inside, the teapot is in clean condition, there is some faint crazing to the base including a longer, fine line that does not feel like a crack to touch. The underside also has a little faint crazing and the maker’s stamp has rubbed away.
Length (spout to handle) 26 cm
Height (incl lid) 14 cm
Width approx 17 cm
