About this product
Regency Rosewood Freestanding Open Bookcase Pedestal
This fine quality piece of later regency period furniture is quite beuatiful indeed.
It is constructed using the highest grade of figured rosewood veneers which would have been available at the time of construction and in combination with the excellent carved decoration this combines to create an incredibly attractive, decorative piece of furniture indeed which would have originated in one of the top workshops of the time.
Finished in the same way on all four sides this piece was probably designed as a central standing open bookcase originally, but in such a way that it could also be used as a pedestal, or plinth, for a large marble or bronze sculpture or similar.
Certainly it could now be used in a huge variety of spots around the home or office as it looks just as nice utilised as a lamp, or occasional table in the corner of the room.
