The length is approx. 3.1/4 inch and 1.3/4 inch at the widest on the fan tail.

There are a number of indistinct marks, so it is difficult to attribute it to a particular designer. However, the quality and craftsmanship is superb.

The brooch is set with a large glass jade cabochon for the body of the fish, with clear paste stones and gem coloured glass oval cabochons along the tail.

The three dimension design give lovely movement to the fish.
